Marla Berg has been the Director of Fundraising Operations at Autism Speaks for one and a half years. In this new role for the organization, she oversees a team responsible for building systems and processes that support fundraising and donor relations. This includes enhancing use of the CRM, implementing best practices in gift processing, engaging donors, and prospect research. She regularly collaborates with senior leaders and staff in Finance, IT, Marketing and Communications, Relationship Development and Field teams. Previously, Marla was AVP of Operations at United Way of New York City for nine years, responsible for revenue reporting, donor analytics, prospect research, the donor database, and operations for the Resource Development department. Other positions include Prospect Researcher at United Way and March of Dimes, part-time academic librarian at Pace University, and freelance researcher. Formerly she was a Career Counselor at Westchester Community College, and several libraries and nonprofits in the NY area. Marla has a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from Queens College and a Master’s in Counseling and Guidance from New York University. She is a member of the Association of Advancement Services Professionals (AASP), and Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA). Over the years she has also been active in the Special Libraries Association.
