Omar Butler is Regional Executive Director with College Track, leading programmatic, operational and fundraising efforts in four communities across Northern California – East Palo Alto, San Francisco, Sacramento and Oakland, where over 1,000 high school students and 400 college students are served annually on their path to social and economic mobility Prior to that he served as Chief of Programs for the Harlem Educational Activities Fund, a college completion program serving students in the New York communities of Harlem and Bedford Stuyvesant. As a first-generation college graduate, Omar is heavily influenced by his personal journey leading him to be passionate about both equipping youth with the tools and resources that they need to become agents-of-change within their communities, and disrupting structures and systems that foster and support inequality. His work has earned him the KQED Local Hero and State Farm Good Neighbor Awards.
